Quality Measures
KHIN Quality Metrics
KHIN’s ONC- and NCQA-certified quality measure platform allows KHIN to compute Quality Reporting Document Architecture (QRDA) I and III reports for submission to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
KHIN’s unique model incorporates data from all the locations a patient may have received care. This is far superior to only including data from a provider’s electronic medical record (EMR).
KHIN’s Quality Platform optimizes overall quality scores for health systems and providers in new payment models, thereby leveraging reporting pathways. This is a more accurate reflection of the care provided to patients and significantly improves reimbursement.
Qualified Registry
A Qualified Data Registry is a CMS-approved entity that collects clinical data on behalf of clinicians for data submission. By achieving registry status, the Doctors Quality Reporting Network (DQRN) marries the collection of patient data and the submission of data in one entity for physicians.
The DQRN currently submits ONC- and Drummond-certified electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) and Promoting Interoperability and Improvement Activities (IA) to CMS.
These measures are standardized and intended to provide reliable indicators of high quality patient care.
Metrics covered include:
- management of chronic diseases
- preventive care screening
- use of appropriate medications
- use of electronic medical records
- patient engagement
- overall cost of care reductions
Physicians and clinicians must make a trusted choice when reporting key components of the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) as a part of the Centers for CMS’s Quality Payment Program (QPP). To view the Quality Measure Specifications, visit this CMS Resource page.
KHIN helps boost overall quality scores, improving reimbursements for health systems and providers. To utilize KHIN's DQRN, physicians and clinicians must be participating members in the KHIN health information network.
